ELI projects help students to integrate and apply new course knowledge, while refining team-based problem solving skills.
Offered every semester, this 16 week course involves teams of 4-5 students working for 10-15 hours a week on consulting projects. Students enrolled in the course receive classroom preparation on a variety of topics, including project and team management, library and database resources, client relationship management, and the management consulting process.
ELI projects address issues of strategic importance to our client companies. The companies provide senior executive-level sponsorship of the projects and commitment of their personnel’s time and organizational resources to support the student teams.
Each team is assigned a faculty advisor with appropriate experience and/or subject matter expertise. Where inter-disciplinary expertise is required, we structure projects in conjunction with graduate students and faculty from other Purdue colleges and schools. Projects typically conclude with a presentation of recommendations to the client’s leadership team.
