The time has come to announce the details for this year’s Annual SMIF Widiger Essay Contest.
This contest is for current FIRST-YEAR Krannert graduate students participating in a 2-year degree. Submissions are to be 5 pages max, 12pt font, double spaced, and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also attach a copy of your current resume. The deadline for essay submission is March 31, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. The winner of the competition will be recognized with an award at the annual SMIF luncheon held at the end of April (date & time TBD). The 1st place prize is $2,000 and the 2nd place prize is $1,000, both kindly sponsored by Ms. Joanne Widiger. Please direct any questions to email@example.com.
This year’s topic is as follows:
How will the new healthcare legislation positively/negatively impact companies here in the United States? What are the top 3 issues, in your opinion, that company executives and small business owners will encounter as a result of this new law? What strategies do you suggest to minimize the negative impacts or maximize the positive impacts from this new law? What sectors or industries will see the most change, positive or negative, from the new healthcare legislation and why?
